Elektriko pareigas einantis darbuotojas turi žinoti ir išmanyti: 1. elektrotechnikos pagrindus; 2. pagrindinius duomenis apie pastoviąją ir kintamąją srovę; 3. elektros apšvietimo tinklų aptarnavimo, remonto būdus ir priemones; 4. elektros įrengimų ir prietaisų montavimo ir remonto būdus bei eiliškumą; 5. elektrotechninių medžiagų pagrindines rūšis, savybes ir paskirtį; 6. elektros variklių ir prietaisų, generatorių, transformatorių, komutacinės ir įvadinės aparatūros, akumuliatorių, jungiklių, kontaktų darbo principus ir sandarą.
